Weekly Screen Acting Class in Sydney
Our screen acting class is on a Wednesday night and gives actors a weekly audition opportunity and scene-study class where they can develop their acting skills and confidence by acting on a week to week basis. Actors will learn and put into practice a range of acting techniques as well as unique technical insights designed to make them more confident, truthful and professional actor.
By acting on a weekly basis, actors will have the opportunity practice their audition craft consistently. Actors will be provided with new material each week to test them and challenge them in different genres from drama, comedy, improvisation, and ensure they are audition ready. Each class gives every student the opportunity to do their simulated audition pieces in front of the class. Actors will also be given a link of their footage the next day for them to review and have as a marketing tool to approach agents with, or send to casting directors.
Self Tape Studio Hire
Our casting studio in Sydney is located opposite The Grounds of Alexandria and has ample on street parking.
Whether you are auditioning for a new Netflix TV series, have a TVC audition that you need to look and sound your best for, or rehearsing and workshopping a new monologue to approach an agent with, self taping is often the way auditions for professional actors are done now.
As an actor it is important that your work is top quality and looks and sounds professional, so that you give yourself the best shot of booking the job. Acting can be a competitive industry, so leave the technical elements to us, and you focus on doing the best self tape you possibly can.
Whether it is a US casting, or an Australian production, our professional self tape studio in Sydney delivers exceptional self tapes. Our self tape studio features a crisp 4K video camera that makes you look amazing, sound recorded with crisp and clean Rode Microphones, a flattering lighting setup, against a beautiful blue background.
A reader and direction can be provided for your self tape. Or, you can bring your own. And you can walk out the door with the footage, or we can upload for you!

Private Acting Coaching
Private acting coaching is an excellent way to fast track your acting goals. Some actors do better work with the singular focus of one dedicated actor coach to focus on them one on one. Some actors may get audition opportunities that they want to knock out of the park, and ensure that they have time and focus to ensure they are prepared for it.
Some actors may need to do a quick self tape and find that working with a one on one acting coach is the simplest most convenient way to do their best work. Some actors feel that by working with a one one on one actor coach is the best way for them to do their best acting work.

Some actors use one on one acting sessions to build up a portfolio of acting scenes and acting takes to use to get an agent, or show a casting director, or to simply gain confidence as an actor on TV or feature film.
One on one sessions with an acting coach be spent discussing how to get an acting agent, how to get auditions and discuss strategies to achieve these goals.
At Sydney Screen Acting, our private acting coaching will ensure you are comfortable and confident to do your best work. We know how important this is to actors and will always ensure all clients leave the room feeling proud of the acting work they did.

Matt Zeremes
Actor, Writer,Director & Producer
Matt​ founded Sydney Screen Acting to offer honest, simple, and inspiring acting classes in Sydney. There is no snake oil being sold here. No confusing methods to master, just an opportunity to work on your craft consistently. He is invested in all his students and will go above and beyond to help them on their acting journey. ​
Matt is the co-creator, executive producer, writer, director, showrunner, actor on two seasons of the AACTA nominated kids comedy series Spooky Files for ABC and BBC. Spooky Files is produced by TAP (Tony Ayres Productions) and Megaboom Pictures.
Matt co-created/wrote, acted in and was a director on the Emmy® Award winning, and twice Emmy® nominated, comedy series Hardball for ABC produced by Northern Pictures. It played for 23 episodes over 2 seasons, and won a stack of international awards.
Matt has co-written two critically-acclaimed kids book series - Zoo Crew, published by Scholastic, and Zombie Diaries, published by Hardie Grant. Zombie Diaries has been translated into 10 languages. Matt has a new book series set for release in 2025 with Hardie Grant.
He's made feature films that have screened at film festivals such as Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto Inside Out Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival. He’s made shorts that finalists at Tropfest Film Festival.
As an actor Matt has been in notable shows such as Spooky Files for ABC & BBC, Secret City, Home and Away, Hardball, Friday on My Mind and Underbelly, to name a few. On stage, he starred in the world premiere productions of Holding the Man in Australia and London's West End.
He has been in many productions at Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir St, Griffin Theatre Co, and Ensemble Theatre Co, Sydney Opera House, Brisbane Powerhouse, Melbourne Theatre Company and more.
He has spent the last 9 years writing, directing and producing the BFA NIDA Third Year Graduating Actor Showreels where he has worked with the leading emerging acting talent in the country including many who have gone on to star in Hollywood films, US TV series and local many Australian Film and TV productions.
